December Challenge #16

Hi! Nandini and Deepti here with the last challenge of 2017. I cannot believe the year has gone by so fast! And what an eventful year it has been!

The challenge for December is

So bring on all your lovely Christmas themed creations and don't forget to add a touch or more of gold or silver.

Mudra released its very first pack of papers and dies last month. I couldn't resist using them for my card.

  • Take a kraft card base and adhere a strip of pattern paper at the bottom.
  • Add a thin strip of gold foiled paper at the top.
  • Take the Geo Pattern stencil and apply some dark brown and gold ink through add some texture to the kraft background.
  • Create your own custom sentiment using the Simply Alphas stamp set. These are super easy to line up and stamp. Use embossing ink for the stamping on a strip of dark brown paper and heat emboss with gold embossing powder.
  • Use the leaf shapes from the new Cut3 Gardenia dies to cut an assortment of papers from the new Beary Hugs kit. Distress the edges lightly.
  • Pop up the die cuts and the sentiment panel on some double sided tape.
  • Add small bows made with teal embroidery thread and draw the strings with a brown sketch pen.

And now over to Deepti for some more fabulous inspiration!

Hi everyone! This is Deepti and here are the Christmas Cards I made for the current challenge. These are simple yet elegant and beautiful. I like the gold embossed part so much on these cards! :)

CARD MAKING DETAILS
  • I started by trimming the three card panels a little smaller than the standard card bases
  • Next I ink blended the backgrounds with Dusty Concord + Picked Raspberry, Dusty Concord + Antique Linen and Dusty Concord + Broken China Distress Inks
  • The Purple color was the main color for all my cards
  • Next I prepped the surfaces of my panels with Anti Static Powder bag and inked up the image from Christmas Sentiments stamp set with Versamark Ink and heat set it with Gold Embossing powder
  • Finally I foam mounted the embossed panel over the main card base
