Colorful Feathers!!

     Good morning dear friends!!

This is PonMalar here & I'm back again with two cards I made using the April release of Mudra stamp sets. I must say I'm so excited about the April months' release & had fun playing with these.

Our Mudra stamp collection is here at Amazon which makes it a lot easier for you to get your hands on them :)

Well, let's get back to my cards!!

Card 1 ~ Tropical Birds
I used two stamp sets from the Mudra collection ~ Cutie Tweety & Dare to Fly!! And I'm happy to say that I designed the Cutie Tweety set. It's fun to play with my own designs ;)

  • I stamped & heat embossed the sentiment & birds using black embossing powder.
  • Then I colored the background using distress ink in shades of blue.
  • Finally colored the birds using these cheap markers I bought years back. Believe it or not, they just cost Rs.6 each & they give me vibrant colors.
  • Stuck the finished panel to a blue card-stock & finally assembled my card!!

Stamps used:
     Cutie Tweety

     Dare to Fly

Card 2 ~ Colorful Peacock Feather
I used a single stamp set, the "Peacock Feather Doodle" for this card. This is one beautiful & elegant doodle stamp designed by my friend Riswana. And there are endless possibilities of cards with this stamp.
I don't own a stamping tool & so can't do repeated stamping!! So I adopted an easy way to bring about the shades in a single image.

  • I used different shades of pigment ink & started smooching them to the doodle stamp starting from the center of the design. I tried to blend the colors a little bit on the stamp itself.
  • Finally stamped the image on my white card-stock & embossed it with clear embossing powder.
  • Sponged the borders with blue Distress ink.
  • Heat embossed the sentiment in white.
  • Finally stuck the panel to my card base; adorning it with strips of glitter paper in the colors matching the stamped image.

Floral fantasy to some magic.....

Hello everyone,

Have you seen the April release of Mudra stamps? All the stamps are gorgeous. I am here today to showcase my take on few of the stamps. Before I delve into that, I am simply amazed by the crisp images given by these stamps. I am lovin' it :)

1. Floral Fantasy #1

  • I stamped the base image with yellow ink from Altenew on to Bielo cardstock.
  • Colored the image with yellow and orange polychromos color pencils.
  • Stamped the flower center on the colored image with Versafine Onyx black ink. Heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
  • Stamped the stem on CS with Dark Chocolate Altenew ink.
  • Cut the CS into 3 removing 1/8 of an inch in between to get panels.
  • Took another CS. Inked with DI (mowed lawn, wild honey, salty ocean) to get the shaded BG.
  • Layered the panels with foam tape. Stuck the flowers and leaves.
  • Mounted this onto a black CS. Embellished with crystals.
  • Sentiment also from the same stamp set is stamped and heat embossed it.

2.  Dainty Blooms

I love this stamp and it suits my love for coloring. The flowers are so dainty and loved coloring them.

  •  Stamped the image with Onyx black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
  • Water colored with Zig Clean color brush.
  • Layered a pink CS with die cuts and oval stitched die cuts.
  • Fussy cut the image and arranged them on the panel.
  • Stamped the sentiment from the set with Onyx black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
  • Added Wink of Stella (clear) on the flowers for a shimmer.

3. Magical Mushroom.

Such a cute stamp set. Such details on the stamps. Especially the cute caterpillar and the wood grain for the door.

I thought I need to make a magical card for this magical stamp. Here it is ....

Full card in view.

The colored part of the slider

Here is a closer view to show the wood grain and the cute caterpillar.

This is such a fun card with a magic to it.
  • I followed the tutorial by Christina Griffiths to make a Magic slider card. Here is the link .
  • I stamped the image on acetate sheet with Stazon (only that will work! )
  • For the colored image I stamped the mushroom with Memento black ink, since I wanted to color the image with copic markers.
  • Stamped the cute little caterpillar with Onyx black for crisp image and colored with polychromos.
  • Shading also done with polychromos.
  • Stamped the sentiment with Onyx black and embossed with clear embossing powder.
  • Embellished the front panel with some handmade flowers.

Mudra Guest Designer Inspiration | Gayatri Murali

Hey Hi All!

We are so excited to have Gayatri Murali in our blog today.

She is an Indian crafter, currently residing in Australia. She needs no introduction in Crafting world. Known for her awesome CAS cards, with such classic style of making. She brings out multiple possibilities for a single stampset. Her Unique ways of using bright and classy colours, are definitely a visual treat in her projects.

Let's hear from her about Mudra stamps...Over to Gayathri!

"Hello everyone,

Welcome to Mudra Stamps blog today. I am Gayatri Murali from Handmade By G3! I am so thrilled to be Guest designing for Mudra Stamps and Thank you Varshitha for the opportunity and generosity.
When I received the package, I was so excited because this is the first stamp set I received that is made in India. I am proud of that and showed them off to my hubby and children J  Love the beautiful perfume when I opened the stamp set. The stamps in the set were nice and sturdy. I always prepare the stamp before stamping for the card. I ink the stamp using black ink and stamp on scrap paper several times. This helps the stamp take ink and stamp evenly. That worked perfect with all the images. I am so happy and proud to say the quality is very good. After that I could not wait to play and make cards.

I am sharing couple of cards with you all here and there are couple more cards I am sharing on my blog as well. Make sure you head over to my blog to see and read how I made them.

My first card showcases Let’s Party Stamp Set.

This is such an awesome birthday stamp set. I especially love the wonky birthday cake. I so wanted to colour the image the moment I saw it. So that is what I have done with my card below.

I stamped the image using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and covered the image with masking fluid. Once the masking fluid is dry, I sponged Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean distress inks around the image. Then I removed the masking fluid by rubbing with my fingers. I coloured the cake with copic markers and added glitter in certain areas using the Sakura Gel pen. Then I stamped the stars and confetti around the cake. The sentiment is white heat embossed on black strip of cardstock. To tie in the black from the image and sentiment strip, I mounted the panel on black card base and embellished with sequins. Here is the closeup of the card.

My second card showcases Peony Love  stampset.

I love floral stamp sets. They are my all time favourite. Floral sets are very versatile and easy to work with. I prefer colouring them. For my card below, I have used masking technique and stamped multiple images of the Peony flower and coloured them with copics.

Then I cut out the along the lines of the flower on the top and adhered the panel to white card base. I stamped the sentiment from Let’s Party stamp set on the top of the card base. To make the peonies special, I added some more shading using black copic fine liner. You can see it in the cloesup photo. I have embellished the card with Sparkly Clear sequins.

Hope you like my card here showcase the beautiful Let’s Party and Peony Love stamp sets. Head over to my blog to see couple of more cards using Peony Love stamp set.
That’s it from me today. Hope you are inspired and have fun with these beautiful stamp sets.

Thank You so much, Gayathri for the lovely words about our Mudra stamps.

Hope you all enjoyed these two lovely cards by Gayatri Murali !! Don't forget to check her blog for some more awesomeness made using Mudra stamps :)
